New Online Resources at the Library

Constitutional Law of South Africa (Jutastat)

Constitutional Law of South Africa is “the definitive work on constitutional law in SA. The work deals with both the local case law and overseas jurisdictions and engages at length in legal theory. It offers complete reconstructions of legal doctrine, alternative readings of constitutional provisions, and appropriate criticism of judgments and legislation. This comprehensive commentary on the South African Constitution also contains the Constitution, 1996 and Rules, links to head and flynotes of cases and added relevant legislation.” Password available via

It offers a “high level of analytic coverage of constitutional law topics in a comparative context. The encyclopedia articles —modeled on those in the Max Planck Encyclopedia of Public International Law— address a focused range of topics that seek to provide the best coverage of the essence, character, development, and history of constitutional law from a global perspective.” The trial ends on June 15, 2017. Please send us your feedback about it.
